• CAMP 2025 0 # The Decision

    2/16/2025

Everything happened so quickly, and while we were enjoying our morning coffee with the sounds of birds, cold winds coming from the sea, and a beautiful view of the small lake surrounded by trees that resist the cold of winter with their wonderful greenery.

We each received an email informing us of a new task awaiting us.
My beloved husband had to drown in a sea of ones and zeros to complete a new program for a reasonable sum, while I had to write my first non-fiction book to get a PhD in communication.

We held an urgent meeting and discussed until the morning about our readiness to leave our beautiful, quiet paradise and immerse ourselves in work and stress for five months.

The deadline for each of us was close; five months seemed like a short period to complete a big job, but we were determined to accomplish it.

After a prolonged interruption, we decided to consider it our first camp. We were heading to another city and found ourselves preparing the necessary papers to accept the job offer and take our bus to the town.

The first challenge for both of us was to find a house equipped with essential equipment in a strategic location that would meet my needs for writing and work and provide my husband with quick and easy mobility.

We found this house thanks to one of the websites. We called the broker, who told us we would have to wait two hours. We then spent two hours exploring the area around the apartment.

The broker arrived, who was a clever and cunning man with one eye, and because we do not judge people by their appearance, we agreed after seeing the two-room house to sign the contract in the evening in the presence of the house's owners.

Wow... what an annoying evening... I found myself, before the arrival of the owners of the house, signing papers and commitments that were infuriating. Still, they guaranteed us, in an implicit way and in the interests of the cannibals more than us, the right to stay in the house for one year, which is more than we really needed.....
